Introduction

Code of Conduct Principles

  1. Act with Integrity and Honesty
    • Maintain the highest standards of ethical behaviour in all activities, both within and beyond the workplace.
    • Protect SP&Co’s reputation by refraining from behaviour or communication that could bring the organisation into disrepute.
  2. Respect Others and Promote Inclusivity
    • Treat all individuals—employees, collaborators, audiences, and community members—with dignity and respect.
    • Foster a workplace free from harassment, bullying, and discrimination, ensuring cultural safety for First Nations and other marginalised communities.
  3. Champion Collaboration and Teamwork
    • Contribute to a positive work environment by valuing open communication, feedback, and collaboration.
    • Support and respect the creative and professional contributions of all team members.
  4. Uphold Child Safety and Welfare
    • Abide by child protection policies and report any safety concerns immediately.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of children participating in workshops, performances, or other SP&Co initiatives.
  5. Protect Confidentiality and Privacy
    • Respect the confidentiality of organisational and personal information.
    • Handle sensitive data responsibly, adhering to relevant privacy laws and regulations.
  6. Ensure a Safe and Healthy Workplace
    • Comply with workplace health and safety policies, reporting hazards or incidents promptly.
    • Promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all team members.
  7. Disclose Conflicts of Interest
    • Avoid situations where personal interests conflict with professional responsibilities.
    • Declare and manage any actual or perceived conflicts of interest transparently.
  8. Commit to Environmental Sustainability
    • Support practices that minimise environmental impact and promote sustainability in productions, tours, and day-to-day operations.

Leadership Responsibilities

SP&Co’s leaders are expected to:

  • Model exemplary behaviour in alignment with this Code.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members in understanding and upholding these principles.
  • Address breaches of the Code promptly and appropriately.

Reporting and Accountability

SP&Co encourages individuals to report any behaviour that contravenes this Code. Reports will be treated confidentially and investigated with care and impartiality.
